Sign Up and Create Your Account

Create your organization account and start managing your crew.

How to Sign Up

  1. Go to persontrail.com/signup.
  2. Enter your full name, email address, and a password. If you have an invite code, enter it for founding member benefits.
  3. Choose a name for your organization. This is the business name your crew will see when they receive invitations.
  4. Submit the form to create your account.

The first account registered under an invite code becomes the Owner of that organization. The Owner role has full access to every feature within your plan tier, including managing crew, creating jobs, viewing analytics, and configuring billing.

Once your account is set up, you can invite team members with different roles. Starter plans can add Coordinators (view and edit access to jobs, schedule, and crew). Pro plans can also add Admins (full dashboard access except billing and organization deletion). See Plan Limits for details.

What Happens Next

After signup, you land on the Owner dashboard with the onboarding checklist visible at the top. This guided checklist walks you through the three essential setup steps:

  1. Review skill categories -- customize the skills used to match crew with jobs
  2. Add your first crew member -- add someone to your crew so you can start assigning work
  3. Create your first job -- create a job and assign it to a crew member

Each step links directly to the relevant page. The checklist tracks your progress and automatically hides once all steps are complete. You can also dismiss it at any time from the dashboard.

Account Security

Password Protection

Passwords are hashed and stored securely. Person Trail never stores plaintext passwords.

Session Management

All sessions are protected with signed tokens that expire automatically. If you sign in on a new device, your previous sessions remain active until they expire.

You can also sign in using a magic link sent to your email, so no password is needed after initial setup. Magic links are single-use and expire after 15 minutes.

One Organization per Account

Each invite code creates one organization. All data (jobs, crew, schedules) is scoped to your organization. No other organization can see your data, and you cannot see theirs.
