Getting Started
Set Up Skill Categories
Define the trade types your crew covers.
Skill categories represent the types of trade work your organization handles. They are the foundation for matching the right crew member to the right job.
Adding Skill Categories
- Go to Settings > Skill Categories.
- Click Add Category and enter a name (for example: Plumbing, Electrical, Roofing, HVAC, Drywall).
- Save the category. It is now available when creating jobs and setting up crew member profiles.
Default Categories
Every new organization starts with 7 default skill categories covering common trades. You can rename or remove these defaults to match your business.
How Skills Are Used
- When you create a job, you select which skills are required.
- When you add a crew member, you assign the skills they cover.
- The auto-assign feature uses skill matching to find crew members who are qualified, available, and closest to the job site.
Plan Limits
| Plan | Skill Categories |
|---|---|
| Free | Up to 10 (7 defaults + 3 custom) |
| Starter | Up to 20 |
| Pro | Unlimited |
If you hit your plan limit, you need to upgrade or remove an existing category before adding a new one.
