Progress Updates

Track work progress with timestamped updates and photos.

Progress updates give you a real-time view of what is happening at the job site. Crew members post updates directly from their portal, and Owners see everything in a timeline on the job detail page.

How Crew Members Post Updates

From the crew portal, a crew member can:

  1. Open an assigned job.
  2. Add a progress note describing what they have done or what they see on site.
  3. Optionally attach photos from their phone or device.
  4. Submit the update.

Each update is timestamped automatically. There is no limit on the number of updates per job.

The Progress Timeline

Every job has a timeline view that shows all activity in chronological order. The timeline includes:

  • Clock in -- When the crew member started work on site.
  • Progress updates -- Notes and photos posted by the crew member.
  • Delays -- Any delay reports with the reason provided by the crew member.
  • Clock out -- When the crew member finished for the day.
  • Status changes -- When the job moved between statuses (Pending, Scheduled, In Progress, Delayed, Completed).

Each entry is color-coded by type so you can scan the timeline quickly.

Who Can See Updates

  • Owners can view the full progress timeline for any job in their organization from the dashboard.
  • Crew members can view the timeline for jobs assigned to them from their portal.

Why Progress Updates Matter

  • They create a documented record of work performed, useful for client-facing reports and dispute resolution.
  • They give Owners visibility into job site activity without needing to call or visit.
  • Photos provide visual proof of work and site conditions.
  • The timeline feeds directly into the PDF job report generated on completion.
